Cozy Films for the Long Thanksgiving Weekend
Eight warm, easy-to-agree-on films for the four days when the house is full and the fridge is fuller.

By Friday the turkey is sandwiches, the relatives are still here, and somebody has to choose what goes on the television. This is not the moment for anything bleak, loud or three hours long.
What the long weekend needs is comfort: fall colors, good company and stories that send everyone to bed happy. These eight are our choices.

Getting through four days of choosing
- Take turns by household. Each family or guest picks one film. Nobody can complain about a choice when theirs is coming.
- Save the longer films for the afternoon. After a big meal, an evening film often ends with half the room asleep.
- Keep a short list on the fridge. Write down six titles on Thursday and cross them off as you go. Our guide on how to pick a film fast explains why this works.
For films that are about the holiday itself, see the best Thanksgiving films to watch after dinner. If the weekend calls for one long story in pieces, try TV series to start tonight and finish by Sunday.
